Kendall Erlenbusch

Owner of Kendall Melissa Events and strong believer in finding true love. Kendall spent the last twelve years in the hospitality business working her way up through the ranks with Hyatt Hotels. She became one of the youngest Director of Events in the company and was named Director of the Year in 2016. In 2017 she was named one of the “50 Women to Watch” by F&B Magazine. During her tenure she has sold, planned, and executed events from two guests to 1,200 guests. With her experience she has great knowledge of the sales process as well as the operation and execution, which allows her to see the event as a whole through a professional’s eye. She can foresee potential issues before they arise and can use her expertise to design a flawless event. She has always had a passion for piecing together the perfect event for every occasion.

Kendall and her husband Kris planned, designed, and executed their dream destination wedding in Sedona, Arizona. During the planning process they were told by many industry professionals that they would not be able to pull off their wedding dreams with their allotted budget. With their expertise in the Hospitality industry they knew their dream was absolutely achievable and saw this as yet another challenge to overcome. During this process they realized how many other brides and grooms were in a similar situation and told 'no’ or ‘impossible’, which ignited a flame to help others bring their wedding dreams to fruition.

Event planning has always been in her blood and she thrives on ensuring all the details; however large are small, are executed with purpose and thought. Her calm under pressure nature allows her to handle every situation with grace and class, all the while keeping her client’s interest close to her heart. She believes in the power of love and the love story of each couple. She can see the couple’s vision as her own and treats their day as if it were her own dream wedding. Nothing gives her greater joy than seeing two souls collide as they say “I Do!”

Booking Kendall was the best decision we ever made! After multiple postponements and a location change, we needed to plan a wedding on a much tighter budget and timeframe. During our initial phone screening with Kendall, it quickly became clear that she was the perfect person to plan our dream wedding. Throughout the planning process, Kendall was always one step ahead--reaching out to our vendor and communicating changes to ensure we were getting exactly what we had asked for. She was always so calm--but we never mistook her chill personality for not taking her job seriously; if anything, having a calm yet detailed and determined wedding planner was the perfect recipe for a well organized wedding. And when our big weekend finally arrived, it was better than we could have ever expected. Even with all of the conversations with Kendall and reviewing every detail, I still wasn't how everything would come together. Upon entering our venue, every detail we discussed was accounted for and in the right place. It was like Kendall had taken all of the ideas that were in my head and brought them to life. I probably went up and hugged her multiple times that night, because we had lost all hope that our special day would ever happen; until that night. Kendall made all of our dreams come true, and I recommend her over and over. Please do yourself a favor and BOOK HER!

I think the best decision we made for the wedding was hiring Kendall to be our wedding planner! She knew exactly how to organize our special day to be the way we wanted it. With zoom meetings and a few meetings in person, she made my now-husband and I feel more prepared. Through her website we were provided a break down of our budget to keep track of our spending. The website also gave us other helpful tools to use as well. From August 2020 to April 2021, Kendall made the whole planning process go smoothly. She was considerate, detail oriented, and also very calming during the "unknown" moments. We enjoyed working with her and sharing our special day with her!

We honestly couldn’t have pulled off our wedding without Kendall and her team. I started looking into “Day Of” coordinating pretty late into the planning process because I realized I was in WAY over my head. Even being a “planner” kind of person, I realized I wouldn’t be able to enjoy the event if I was also the one running around trying to coordinate everything at the same time. I found Kendall on WeddingWire and set up a phone call with her. I knew instantly from talking with her that she was experienced and I could trust her professional opinion and expertise.

Unfortunately the month before our original wedding date, covid happened and we had to reschedule 6 months out. Kendall was instrumental in contacting all of my vendors and helping get my new contracts in order. She also was able to assist us in getting a full refund from our venue. It was really effortless.

The package Kendall offered us was Day Of coordinating with assistance 3 months leading up to the wedding day. Of course with covid, my timelines got stretched out a bit. This didn’t affect Kendall’s dedication to our event - she wanted us to have our dream wedding despite the circumstances!

We had already booked the majority if not all of our vendors before booking Kendall, but when I needed a new hair and makeup team last minute (like a few weeks before) she was right on top of it! I appreciated her prior positive relationships with the majority of our vendors and in the Northern California wedding community.

She had everything for our wedding organized in a google drive that was easily accessible, and she sent us weekly emails with updates as we got closer. Her checklists and timelines kept me on top of everything and because of these I was able to enjoy the week leading up to my wedding without crazy last minute fiascos.

From bringing our venue to life, to coordinating our rehearsal, to helping me make my Pinterest-worthy send off a reality, we couldn’t be happier with Kendall and we would recommend her to all of our family and friends!

I can’t say enough good things about Kendall. Hiring her was one of the best decision I made while planning our wedding. Our wedding was effected by Covid and despite all of my stress of the unknown, Kendall remained calm and was extremely flexible with the many changes we had to make, including location. Although I did not use Kendall's service to the full extent (due to COVID) I no doubt would have expected her to go beyond in executing our wedding. She is responsive and easy to work with. Her background experience in hospitality is what really drew me, and meeting her I knew the wedding would have been in good hands.
Corresponding together she asked questions and helped delegate tasks I didn't realize I would have needed to do and broke down tasks in an easy digestible way that I could begin to tackle. Wedding planning isn't easy and If you're considering a planner do it!

As the mother of the bride, starting the wedding planning process was a bit daunting at first for many reasons.  First, my daughter lives in Seattle but the wedding was held in St Louis and she didn’t have much time to come back and forth so much of the planning was done via email and phone calls.  The second was the simple fact that we have never planned a wedding before and weren’t sure how to get started.  When we first reached out to Kendall she set us up with a list of things to think about and consider and when to complete them and a spreadsheet to track our vendors as we made payments, when payments were due, how much we had spent to date, etc.  Not only did she send the spread sheet but she gave us some helpful numbers for our budget that she thought were reasonable and they were incredibly accurate! She kept us on budget and on time with making payments.  Kendall researched accommodations for our guests and took care of all communication with the hotels and tracked room bookings when people made them.  When we had any sort of question Kendall replied in a timely manner with answers that were helpful and she went out of her way to include extra ideas, and information we had not thought of yet.  She helped with decorating tips and ideas, researched vendors for linen rentals, talked to us about invitation etiquette for not only the wedding but rehearsal dinner, and checked in with us frequently to make sure we were comfortable with the progression of planning.  My daughter’s fiancé is from Vietnam and 26 of his family members attended the wedding from Vietnam.  Kendall helped plan transportation for them and for our wedding guests.  The biggest thing that Kendall did was reassure us that we were on the right track and gently corrected us when we weren’t.  She was calm, always professional and very available for all questions, big or small.  The wedding day was a huge success and went off without a hitch.  My daughter said she would do it all again! Thank you to Kendall for all that she did to help make it so incredible and memorable!
